wages, 80% for critical injuries (<a href=\"https:\/\/codes.findlaw.com\/fl\/title-xxxi-labor\/fl-st-sect-440-15.html\">440.15(1)<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>Temporary Partial Disability (TPD) benefits = 80% of the difference between 80% of your wages pre-injury and your wages post-injury (<a href=\"https:\/\/codes.findlaw.com\/fl\/title-xxxi-labor\/fl-st-sect-440-12.html\">440.12<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>Benefits begin on day 1 if the disability lasts more than 21 days (<a href=\"https:\/\/codes.findlaw.com\/fl\/title-xxxi-labor\/fl-st-sect-440-12.html\">440.12<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>Benefits for psychiatric claims that are a result from physical injuries are limited to 6 months (<a href=\"https:\/\/codes.findlaw.com\/fl\/title-xxxi-labor\/fl-st-sect-440-093.html\">440.093<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>104 weeks of TTD and\/or TPD benefits (<a class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Illegally employed minors who are injured will receive up to double in damages (<a href=\"https:\/\/codes.findlaw.com\/fl\/title-xxxi-labor\/fl-st-sect-440-54.html\">440.54<\/a>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Possible_Restrictions\"><\/span>Possible Restrictions<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>After suffering from a work related injury, your employer will refer you to a doctor through the company\u2019s workers\u2019 compensation insurance. This doctor will diagnose you and provide a treatment plan. The issue here is that you are relying on a doctor who is not your own and who works for the insurance company. The risk of a misdiagnosis is higher as the insurance company may work closely with this doctor to limit their benefit payments or avoid them altogether.<\/li>\n<li>The amount of time you\u2019re allowed to receive workers\u2019 compensation checks is limited by law. Even if you don\u2019t feel completely healthy yet, once a doctor approves you to go back to work then the benefits will stop.<\/li>\n<li>Your job is not protected! Employers are not required to hold your position until you return.<\/li>\n<li>The insurance company will do what they can to limit benefit payments.
