Edgecomb Courthouse<\/a><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Named after the first <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hillsboroughcounty.org\/en\/newsroom\/2018\/09\/20\/george-edgecomb-courthouse\">African-American county court judge<\/a> in Hillsborough County, this state courthouse handles most Hillsborough County court activity. It can also handle any type of legal matter for Florida\u2019s state courts. For citizens who live in East County, however, it can be easier to visit the Plant City Office Building instead.<\/p>\n<p>Parking for the George E. Edgecomb Courthouse is to the structure immediately east of the building\u2019s entrance. There are temporary metered parking spaces along the trip. However, if you have a matter that will take an extensive amount of time, as is likely to happen, it\u2019s better to park in the complete structure.<\/p>\n<p>Address: 800 Twiggs Street<br \/>\nTampa, FL 33602<br \/>\nTelephone Number: (813) 864-2280<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Hillsborough_County_Courthouse_Annex\"><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hillsclerk.com\/\">Hillsborough County Courthouse Annex<\/a><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The Hillsborough County Courthouse Annex is part of the same building as the George E. Edgecomb Courthouse. If you enter the courthouse from the Jefferson and Twiggs entrance, the Annex will be to your left. There\u2019s an upstairs walkway to the Annex building that you can take.<\/p>\n<p>To park at the Hillsborough County Courthouse Annex, use the same parking places as the George E. Edgecomb Courthouse. The parking garage is to the east of the building, and you can use the metered parking spots.<\/p>\n<p>Address: 401 N. Jefferson Street<br \/>\nTampa, FL 33602<br \/>\nTelephone Number: (813) 276-8100<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Old_Courthouse\"><\/span>Old Courthouse<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Tampa\u2019s Old Courthouse is a state courthouse location for <a href=\"https:\/\/www3.myfloridacounty.com\/traffic_tickets\/index.html\">handling traffic citations and tickets<\/a>. Because of the numerous people who come to the Old Courthouse, it may take time to receive service. If you come close to closing time, you\u2019ll need to be in line at least 30 minutes before the 5 PM closing time. To avoid the crowds, the Old Courthouse also allows people to pay their citations online.<\/p>\n<p>The Old Courthouse is in the same area as the Edgecomb Courthouse and Annex, so you can use the same parking locations. Gibbons United States Courthouse<\/a><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you need to handle an issue through federal court, you will want to go to the Sam M. Gibbons United States Courthouse. Because it\u2019s a federal courthouse, you\u2019ll have to abide by all security procedures, including leaving all electronics in the car \u2013 phones, laptops, and other electronic devices can enter the building only with a court order. You will also need to pass through a metal detector and an x-ray machine as part of a security screening.<\/p>\n<p>All the street parking places near the courthouse have parking meters, so you\u2019ll want to use the nearby parking lots, since you\u2019ll likely be attending to business for a while.<\/p>\n<p>Address: 801 N. Thankfully, they are close to each other, which can make it easy to relocate if you need to.
