Los datos registrados pueden incluir informaci\u00f3n como la velocidad del veh\u00edculo en el momento del impacto y si se aplicaron o no los frenos.<\/p>\n<p>Aunque a\u00fan no son obligatorias, muchos fabricantes de autom\u00f3viles ya instalan cajas negras en los veh\u00edculos nuevos que producen. Sin embargo, debido a que esto se realiza de forma voluntaria, la tecnolog\u00eda no est\u00e1 estandarizada y los distintos registradores recogen diferentes tipos de datos, lo que reduce su utilidad.<\/p>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s de la falta de uniformidad en los datos recopilados, los procedimientos para su recolecci\u00f3n e interpretaci\u00f3n var\u00edan considerablemente seg\u00fan el fabricante, lo que dificulta su aprovechamiento. Toyota, por ejemplo, instala cajas negras en sus veh\u00edculos nuevos, pero acceder a los datos tras un accidente requiere un dispositivo especializado que no est\u00e1 f\u00e1cilmente disponible en Estados Unidos. Asimismo, es necesario contar con un empleado de Toyota con formaci\u00f3n espec\u00edfica para interpretar los datos una vez descargados de la caja negra, lo que complica la revisi\u00f3n independiente.<\/p>\n<p>Las cajas negras tienen el potencial de proporcionar pruebas cruciales a los demandantes lesionados en accidentes automovil\u00edsticos. Al corroborar la explicaci\u00f3n de la parte lesionada sobre el accidente (demostrando que se aplicaron los frenos antes del impacto), una caja negra podr\u00eda ayudar al demandante a obtener una indemnizaci\u00f3n en un caso que, en el pasado, podr\u00eda haberse perdido por falta de pruebas.<\/p>\n<p>Por otro lado, los cr\u00edticos advierten contra una dependencia excesiva de la tecnolog\u00eda, se\u00f1alando que un mal funcionamiento de un dispositivo podr\u00eda llevar a que se responsabilice a la parte equivocada en caso de accidente.<\/p>\n<p>Los defensores de la privacidad tambi\u00e9n expresan su preocupaci\u00f3n de que las cajas negras obligatorias puedan suponer una invasi\u00f3n de la privacidad para los consumidores, sobre todo porque estos dispositivos pronto podr\u00edan incluir un componente de v\u00eddeo en la cabina, que, combinado con la tecnolog\u00eda de localizaci\u00f3n GPS, podr\u00eda utilizarse te\u00f3ricamente para monitorizar los movimientos de los conductores en tiempo real.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Transparency_and_Accountability\"><\/span>Transparencia y rendici\u00f3n de cuentas<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>La retirada de veh\u00edculos de Toyota no solo impuls\u00f3 la incorporaci\u00f3n de tecnolog\u00eda m\u00e1s orientada a la seguridad en el dise\u00f1o de los nuevos autom\u00f3viles, sino que tambi\u00e9n puso de relieve la necesidad de mayor transparencia y responsabilidad por parte de los fabricantes cuando surgen problemas de seguridad.
